This property and building have a long history in the Armuchee area; many older residents remember this church from childhood.
The history of this church dates back to 1889 or even earlier. The property was deeded from John L. Cook on September 23, 1889, and is recorded on a stone in the hilltop church cemetery. The first structure was a log building across the road from the current church building. It was used as a school during the week and church on Sundays.
On or about 1900, a building known as "Old Shiloh" church was moved from Old Summerville Road to its current location, well over 100 years old. It is still used for services by those who attended as youngsters and new faces who have come to love this beautiful place of worship.
Mountain Springs Church, now located in the middle of the Berry College property, still provides services once per month during warm weather.
